Fire Capt. Michael Baker said the driver of a Quick Trip tanker was injured and his tanker ruptured, when the truck overturned on the on-ramp shortly before 1 a.m.

A hazardous materials crew responded to the situation to clean up the spilled gasoline and treat what Baker described as a small amount of fuel that entered a nearby storm drain.

The accident affected holiday traffic for several hours at the busy interchange, with eastbound lanes of the highway remaining closed until after 9 a.m.
