Freewheel event makes return to Stillwater

The week-long Freewheel bicycle tour of Oklahoma hasn’t visited Stillwater in about 20 years.

An Oklahoma bicycle tour will make its first appearance in Stillwater in about 20 years next month.

Oklahoma Freewheel is an annual week-long bicycle tour of Oklahoma. The tour last visited Stillwater in the early 1990s. More than 500 bicyclists, plus support crews, event staff and family members, will travel to Stillwater at some point during the event. The tour is expected to make its way through Stillwater on June 12.

On June 12, Stillwater also is the host city for Speedwheel, a closed-course race in the downtown district. This event is expected to bring additional racers, race crew and staff to Stillwater.
