Amalfitano was involved in a tussle with Matuidi throughout the first half of the match on Oct. 7 between the bitter club rivals. The two players then confronted each other when the halftime whistle was blown. Amalfitano slapped Matuidi in the face, forcing other players to intervene as Matuidi sought retribution.

The pair were initially set to be questioned Oct. 31, but that is the date of the League Cup match between their two teams.

They cannot appear before the commission on Nov. 8 as Marseille faces Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Europa League.
