The National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office’s area forecast discussion regarding what is possibly ahead: “Big changes expected later in the week and models continue to
differ. Strong cold front expected to drop southward through the Plains
Wednesday night and is expected to push into the forecast area on Thursdsay.
Will trend more toward the ec solution with respect to the timing
and strenght of the front as it pushes through the southern
plains. Some potential for light wintery precip late in the week
in parts of the region with colder low level airmass settling in
and southwesterly upper flow persisting. However, enough uncertainty
remains with model differences to not get too cute with details
that far out. Precip threat should gradually diminish into the
early part of the weekend with upper low developing well to the
west over southern Calif.  Precip chances will then likely increase by
early next week as this system begins to lift northeastward towards the
Plains states.”
