A dense fog advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. today (Monday) for parts of northern, central and southern Oklahoma in the National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office coverage area.
And Forrest Mitchell of the National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office said, “Visibility is near zero in several places and we’re expecting these conditions to persist until about 10 a.m. this morning for Oklahoma City. Visibilities will gradually improve after 10. But we probably won’t have any substantial clearing until early this afternoon in the Oklahoma City metro.
“We’ve just got a shallow layer of really humid air this morning, a temperature inversion in place and light winds.”
In looking ahead this week, Mitchell said anyone who has outdoor activities that they can take care of now, it would be best to do it today or Tuesday because of cold weather in the forecast in the National Weather Service, Norman coverage area.
Oklahoma City’s forecasted high temperatures go from mid-60s today and tomorrow to the 40s on Wednesday, below freezing at 31 degrees on Thursday and highs in the mid-20s on Friday and Saturday. Wintry precipitation is also possible during portions of that time span.
