Frontier City amusement park in Oklahoma City to hold open auditions

FROM STAFF REPORTS | Published: February 16, 2013

Frontier City will hold open auditions for the 2013 season's park performers beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday in the amusement park's opera house.

Musicians, dancers, singers, actors, drummers, stunt persons and technicians are invited to audition for a variety of performing roles including sheriffs, cowboys, saloon girls and rock stars.

“Theme parks are a great place for young talent to hone their craft,” said David Thomas, owner of Shows In A Box Entertainment and former vice president of entertainment for Six Flags.

All auditioning performers should be at least 16 and provide a head shot photograph and résumé. Dancers must learn a short dance combination, and singers will be asked to perform two song selections that display versatility and may either bring recorded music without vocals or sing a cappella.

Actors and stunt performers will be asked to dry read from a script and should be dressed and prepared for a movement audition. No previous stunt work is necessary. Percussionists and drummers will be required to play 12 measures freestyle on “Stomp”-style buckets and stage equipment.

Frontier City is at 11501 N Interstate 35 Service Road. For more information, go to www.frontiercity.com.
