Frost advisory: Temperatures to dip near freezing mark in Oklahoma this weekend

The central Oklahoma temperature will be as low as 35 early Sunday. A frost advisory has been issued for parts of the state. But temperatures will warm up by Monday.

A frost advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for much of Oklahoma.

The advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for western, central and northern Oklahoma.

Temperatures will dip near freezing in central Oklahoma this weekend.

The low temperature early Saturday will be near 38 degrees and the low will be near 35 degrees early Sunday, the National Weather Service reports.

The forecast for Oklahoma City is as follows:

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m. Cloudy with a high near 56. North wind around 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Friday night: Cloudy during the early evening then clearing with a low around 38. North, northeast wind 9 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Saturday: Increasing clouds with a high near 55. North, northeast wind 11 to 13 mph.

Saturday night: Cloudy then gradually becoming partly cloudy with a low around 35. North wind 6 to 11 mph.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a high near 58. North, northwest wind 7 to 10 mph becoming east, southeast in the afternoon.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 41.

Columbus Day: Sunny with a high near 69.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 55.

Tuesday: Partly sunny with a high near 75.

Tuesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a low around 54.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny with a high near 63.

Wednesday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a low around 51.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a high near 71.
