BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Barcelona's sports director says the future of veteran midfielder Xavi Hernandez and forward Alexis Sanchez is uncertain as the Spanish club overhauls its squad.
Andoni Zubizarreta says the club will speak with Xavi after his summer holidays to decide "what is best for him and for Barca."
Zubizarreta also says it has received offers from other clubs for Alexis, and he "didn't know how it would turn out."
As for speculation regarding a possible bid for Uruguay forward Luis Suarez, Zubizarreta commended Suarez's decision to apologize for biting an Italian player at the World Cup but adds "Luis Suarez is a Liverpool player."
Zubizarreta has also denied rumors that Barcelona is seeking to move forward Pedro Rodriguez and defender Adriano.
