ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. (AP) — Officials at Robins Air Force Base have distributed about 9,000 power strips to cut down on energy use.

The strips allow employees to plug in multiple devices — like computers, lamps, and printers — in one place and turn them all off by flipping a single switch.

Base energy manager Dave Bury says the strips are one of the biggest opportunities to save on energy costs, and officials say the strips could help the base save up to $50,000 annually.
