OKLAHOMA CITY / SKY LINE / OKLAHOMA: Oklahoma City Wednesday morning received an aerial salute from 19 army planes on their way to Dayton, Ohio, to participate in army air maneuvers there. Arriving over the city about 10 o'clock, the planes flew in formation over the south part of the city, and after circling once and doing a salute, continued on their way to Tulsa. The planes were believed to have been en route from the west coast, according to W.E. Fletcher, municipal airport manager. He said 66 planes were scheduled to arrive in Tulsa Wednesday for refueling. A total of 650 planes will gather in Dayton, by Thursday night. Photo undated and published 05/13/1931 in The Oklahoma City Times.
