D-Day Veteran 10/17

This photo shows McNiece, right, re-enacting the famous black and white photo taken by a Stars and Stripes photographer of him putting war paint on the face of a fellow paratrooper. This image was taken at an air show in Pennsylvania. Jake McNiece, 93, was a paratrooper with 101st Airborne who parachuted behind enemy lines in northern France and led a team of men dubbed the "Filthy 13" on a demolition mission in advance of the Allied Forces D-Day invasion of beaches at Normandy on June 6, 1944.
