Survivors of the Woodward tornado, including this elderly man who suffered a cut on his head during the storm, enjoy a meal brought in and prepared by volunteers at a shelter.  The Woodward County town of 5,500 was devasted by the April 9, 1947, tornado, which was on the ground more than six  hours, traveling more than 200 miles from the  Texas Panhandle into Kansas.    4/22/1947
