The situation: After a fabulous punt by OSU's Kip Smith, the Sooners nearly avoided a safety as Clay just made it out of the end zone before being stopped by Caleb Lavey on first down.

The play: Just after changing the play at the line, Bell seemed not to be ready for Gabe Ikard's snap. The ball hit Bell's hands, bounced straight into the turf and right back into Bell's hands, averting a disaster for the Sooners. Bell composed himself and hit Shepard for a 57-yard pass. On the play, an official ran backward into Sooners linebacker Eric Striker on the sideline, initially drawing a flag for sideline interference. The collision happened near the back of the whited-out area in front of the bench that is supposed to be kept clear of coaches and players. But the flag was picked up. The Sooners wound up punting but were about to get away from the end zone.
