OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CELEBRATION - Photo Gallery 4/35

Noe Rodriguez holds a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe as he joins his family and other worshipers during the service. Many Hispanic parishioners attend a midnight service at Sacred Heart Church in southwest Oklahoma City to celebrate the Catholic Church's liturgical feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. The service was a joyous and reverent celebration of traditions that commemorates the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe in 1531 to a Mexican peasant Indian San Juan Diego and incorporates the customs and traditions of the Piro and Tigua ancestors of the village. It was filled with color, music and pageantry. Before and after the Mass, costumed dancers perform traditional Indian and Danzante dances. Photo by Jim Beckel, The Oklahoman
