The Midwest City parks and recreation department opened its municipal swimming pool, Reno Swim & Slide, to pet owners and their dogs Monday afternoon, Sep. 2, 2013. The city limited the number of dogs to 150, but about 200 humans joined their canine companions for playtime in the water. Monday was the final day of the city's pool season and it's been a tradition for the past few years to invite dogs to enjoy the pool with their owners before the poll is drained for the winter. The Oklahoma Baptist University football team took to the field on the school's Shawnee campus for the first time in more than seven decades when they hosted the Southwestern College(Kansas) Moundbuilders at Bison Field in the Eddie Hurt Athletyic Center on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.
