Tress Way's punting - 50-yard average on six kicks - was the game's most impressive statistic. Way, pictured here, constantly pinned the Hawkeyes deep or kicked OU out of trouble. Way even made a tackle on an Iowa punt return. Also, kickoff returns of 52 yards by Trey Franks and 35 yards by Brennan Clay gave the Sooners good field position. And Michael Hunnicut's 35-yard field goal with 2:28 left iced the game. Run defense: B. The Hawkeyes got just 78 yards on 29 carries from their tailbacks and gave up no big plays. But remember two things. The Hawkeyes were without leading rusher Marcus Coker, and even with Coker, Iowa wasn't a great running team. The Hawkeyes ranked last in the Big Ten in rushing. We said Iowa liked to run the ball. We never said the Hawkeyes were good at it.
