An hourlong remembrance service Monday night at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Oklahoma City honored those who died last Friday in a shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Above, the Rev. Justin Lindstrom, left, and Don Ressler, lay minister, join with others in sharing embraces, hugs and handshakes before the distribution of Communion during the service. The service included readings from Scripture, silent prayer and reflection, and words of comfort delivered by Lindstrom, dean of the cathedral parish. At the beginning of the service, 28 white candles that lined the main altar were lit to represent the life of each of those who died Friday — 20 children, six adults, the gunman’s mother and the gunman.
