Oklahoma tornadoes: Cleanup hits full swing in Moore - Article Photos 20/51

Jim Peerson with Ft. Gibson United Methodist Church, rests on a large tree upended in the front yard of his longtime friends, Connie and Martin Fogle. Connie was in her house when the tornado ripped it apart. She said nine people, including several small children sought shelter in a "little bedroom closet" unit the storm passed. A tree fell on top of the house which she said kept them in the closet and prevented them from being sucked out of the home by the twister. Volunteers from various parts of the country joined Oklahomans in assisting residents on Saturday, May 25, 2013, doing whatever was needed to remove debris and salvage items from this neighborhood east of Santa Fe, north of SW 19 Street. An EF5 tornado leveled many neighborhoods in Moore and southwest Oklahoma City last Monday. Photo by Jim Beckel, The Oklahoman.
