For the Oklahoma History Center's new "Steamboat Heroine" exhibit, the state historical society commissioned Peter Rindlisbacher, an internally recognized Canadian marine artist known for his detailed and evocative illustrations of sailing ships and steamboats, to create the painting "Steamboat Heroine." Rindlisbacher worked closely with the archaeologists who excavated the Heroine and studied the three-dimensional artist?s model of the boat to create the historically accurate painting.
