Article Photos: Denver using 'raptor poles' to control wildlife 22/22

This undated photo file shows a Swainson's hawk in Denver. The hawk is one of the predators of prairie dogs that can find perches to hunt from thanks to new "raptor poles." Denver parks managers who recently gassed hundreds of prairie dogs near Central Park in the Stapleton neighborhood are trying a different tack to protect city green spaces. They'll erect "raptor poles" above problem prairie-dog colonies _ perches for red-tailed, Swainson's and ferruginous hawks and other sharp-taloned predators. (AP Photo/The Denver Post, Lyn Alweis)
