Sam Anderson, a talented and verbose writer from The New York Times wrote a pretty great story about Oklahoma’s own Gary England, whom he refers to as a combination of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Foghorn Leghorn, Atticus Finch, Dan Rather, Zeus and Uncle Jesse from “The Dukes of Hazzard.” LOLOLOLOL.
The story is written in first person and Anderson seems so plugged in to England’s entire life, it gets a tiny bit creepy.
“Gosh, did he move in with Gary England or what?” said a colleague here in the newsroom who wishes to remain anonymous. (her name rhymes with Warla Clinton).
If you have an hour or so to read an amusing account of England’s career, legacy and, apparently God-like presence in Oklahoma, read the story here.
