PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices in Rhode Island are up 3 cents in the last week to the highest average of the year.
The latest price survey released by AAA Southern New England found the average cost of a gallon of regular self-serve in the state is $3.73. That's the highest weekly average of 2014.
Prices in Rhode Island are 3 cents more than a month ago. The current price is 5 cents more than the national per-gallon average of $3.68.
Rhode Islanders were paying 13 cents less on average, or $3.60 a gallon, a year ago at this time.
The survey found a 35-cent range in prices, from a low of $3.54 to a high of $3.89.
