TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gas prices in New Jersey remained mostly flat over the past week, with no change compared to a year ago as well.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of gas in New Jersey was $3.39 for the recently completed week. That is one cent higher than last week's average price and exactly the same price as the same week in 2013.

Nationally, a gallon of gas cost an average of $3.62, four cents more than a week ago and 13 cents higher than a month ago. A year ago, a gallon averaged $3.56 nationally.

AAA Mid-Atlantic predicts that prices will peak nationally at between $3.55 and $3.75, and that the peak could be reached soon as seasonal maintenance winds down.
