Gas prices keep some drivers off the track
A year ago, there were about 28 factory stocks racing each week at State Fair Speedway .
This season, on average, about half as many compete on Friday nights.
"There are guys who registered at the beginning of the season, and they have yet to come out to a single race,” said Lanny Edwards , State Fair Speedway promoter. "Guys keep saying they are one or two weeks away, but I have yet to see them.”
