Gas prices up 5 cents, to average $3.48 in RI

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices have gone up 5 cents per gallon this week in Rhode Island, to an average $3.48 for regular.

AAA Southern New England says its weekly survey out Monday shows prices have dropped 16 cents per gallon from when it was $3.64 a year ago, a decrease of 4 percent.

Nationally, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.27. The price is Rhode Island is 21 cents more, or 6 percent higher.
