Gay hate law spurs mixed bag of replies

Adding sexual orientation to the federal hate crimes law was either a grave threat to the Constitution or a great day for America, depending on whom you ask.

President Barack Obama signed a bill Wednesday making it a crime to assault a person based on their sexual orientation.

While leaders of churches that support full inclusion of gays and lesbians generally favor the law, some conservatives fear it could be used to silence clergy.

So many people have been killed for being gay, I think it makes sense to make that a hate crime too. I doubt any gays/lesbians have been killed or beaten by people who LIKE them.

What happened to seperation of church and state. What is said in church is within the church. Hmm will the nuts in Kansas be arrested now? I have no problem with a preacher preaching what he believes to be Biblical in church, however if you take it to the streets then its a different story like those nutsos in Kansas. HOwever some boundary pusher will try to sue a preacher for preaching sound doctorine at least with that particular religion. Hmm if he does sign it will the government go after the Muslims the same as the Christians? Stay tuned kids to this bat channel, same bat time.
