Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum planning celebration

The Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum, 1400 Classen Drive, will commemorate the state’s 101st birthday with free admission Sunday.

The celebration from noon to 5 p.m. will include museum tours, a book signing, showing of the movie "Oklahoma!” and sealing of an Oklahoma Centennial time capsule.

David Boren and authors Bob Burke and Von Russell Creel will sign copies of the book "Oklahoma Statesman: The Life of David Boren” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The musical "Oklahoma!” will be shown beginning at 3 p.m.

The official Oklahoma Centennial time capsule will be sealed at 1 p.m.. The time capsule will be opened in 2052 to help with preparations for the state’s 150th birthday in 2057.
