The WhollyGenes fourth annual cruise and conference is scheduled for Oct. 26-Nov. 2. Bob Velke, president of WhollyGenes, is the developer of The Master Genealogist, a genealogy database software program. The educational and fun-filled voyage to the Eastern Caribbean will include opportunities to learn about genealogical research methods, tools and technologies from noted speakers and authorities in those fields. Speakers will include Elizabeth Shown Mills, former editor of the National Genealogical Society Quarterly; Barbara Vines Little, Virginia research expert; John Grenham, Irish genealogist; and John Tidford, British genealogist and author. Genealogist and military expert Craig Scott, "Cyndi's List” creator and online research expert Cyndi Howell, Tony Burroughs and Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak will also present lectures. "The Master Genealogist” lectures will be presented by Bob Velke, John Cardinal, Lee Hoffman, Phil DeSilva and Ken Riggins. All speakers will be available for scheduled sessions with individuals and breakfast meetings with groups. A special shore excursion in St. Thomas is being planned for those who may be interested in the genealogical resources of the Caribbean. The Caribbean Princess will leave the port of New York and travel to St. Kitts and Antigua, West Indies, and then to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
