As the iPhone and other smartphones have improved their cameras, so have the ways you can use the photos they take, whether you want to edit them, print them or take better photos.

SnapBox turns your photo in a framed canvas print when you email it from your phone to snapbox@snapboxez.com or upload it www.snapboxez.com. The company will send you an email with size choices and prices (from $10), and you'll soon have the print in your hands.

Order prints using the app PostalPix (from SalonSwipe) or mail actual postcards using Postagram Postcards (from Sincerely Inc.). The apps are free on the iTunes and Google Play stores but cost per photo sent. These services get photos out of the digital world and into the real one.

Taking photos

Check out Photojojo.com for ways to enhance your smartphone cameras with lenses, filters, boom mikes, tripods, etc. A set of three lenses that includes a macro, telephoto and fisheye lens will cost you about $49, for example. Another popular three-in-one lens set is the olloclip, available at www.olloclip.com.
