As a business writer and editor, I’ve visited a lot of companies, and there’s a special feeling about a great workplace.
The employees are energized, engaged and thriving.
Often, they can’t wait to tell an outsider how much they enjoy what they’re doing and where they’re doing it. That’s what we’re counting on.
If you work at such a place, or even know of one, you can nominate it as one of Oklahoma’s “Top Workplaces,” The Oklahoman’s ranking of the best organizations with the best opportunities, work atmosphere, benefits and perks.
We’ve extended the nomination deadline until Aug. 23. More than 40 organizations already have agreed to take part in the project.
There are a lot of great workplaces in Oklahoma. If you don’t believe me, listen to these Oklahoma employees who work at some of the companies that already have participated in the nomination process:
“I truly feel like my work is valued, and I am appreciated. I also love my job because of the atmosphere and the people here. We are a family and I wouldn’t work anywhere else.”
“It allows me to pursue my career and have a wonderful family life. The best place I have ever worked.”
Our research partner in this effort, Workplace Dynamics, is surveying the nominated companies, which decide whether they want to participate.
Anyone can suggest a company — employees, interns, customers, even executives. It doesn’t matter if the workplace is for-profit or nonprofit, privately owned or publicly held, but it must employ at least 35 people.
The top-ranked companies will be recognized in The Oklahoman and on NewsOK.com in December.
