Get your photos and videos on NewsOK Now!

by Alan Herzberger Published: June 26, 2014

If you have something to share with Oklahomans around the world, use NewsOK Now.

It’s new and it’s an app in the iTunes store that allows users to snap a photo or take a quick video clip and upload it to our editors. If the photo is published on, we’ll send you a message with a link to the content on our site.

If you aren’t using an iPhone, we have you covered. Just go to on your Android or Windows phone and upload the image or video directly to us. The functionality is the same on the mobile website — even iPhone users who prefer not to use the app can just as easily use the mobile website.

We first tested the app by promoting it last weekend to our friends on Twitter and Facebook. We wanted anyone going to the Star Spangled Salute Air Show and Open House at Tinker Air Force Base to share their photos and videos.

And now we’re ready for more.

This weekend is OKCFest with bands playing at various venues in the city through Sunday afternoon. We’d like to produce a photo gallery and series of videos you send us from OKCFest throughout the weekend. Download the NewsOK Now app. Upload what you see.

And the following weekend? That’s the Fourth of July. Send us more images of your weekend fun.

NewsOK Now is built for users who rely on our site to tell them what they need to know.  We welcome your help in that job.

We want our users out in the community to be our eyes and ears. If you see something interesting, you can always post it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, but you should also send it to us through NewsOK Now.

We can help get it to all the corners of the world.
