SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Hudson says he'll be ready when the season starts for his new team.

The 38-year-old righty is still recovering from a badly broken right ankle that occurred on July 24 while he was covering first base for the Atlanta Braves.

Hudson signed a two-year, $23 million free-agent deal with the Giants in November.

Hudson said Friday that he's right on schedule. He said his ankle feels close to 100 percent.
