Gimme the headset: Bring in the backups
This is the portion of the postgame report where we tell the coaches how they muffed a call. Uh, that doesn't really apply here. Pretty spiffy play-calling in the 54-3 victory.

So let's go this route in the rout of Utah State. Play the backup quarterbacks earlier. Sam Bradford played 2

quarters and departed with a 45-3 lead. Kid Nichol and Joey Halzle finished up. But they didn't get to play with the thoroughbreds. Didn't get to throw to Malcolm Kelly or Juaquin Iglesias.

Bradford threw 25 first-half passes. He got plenty of work. Meanwhile, with the backup receivers and tailbacks, Nichol went 1-of-6 passing and Halzle 1-of-1. Let the backups work a couple of series with the starters, just in case.
