Girl drowns in backyard pool
An 11-year-old girl died after drowning in a backyard pool this evening in northwest Oklahoma City .
Police responded to a call at 3828 NW 9 St. about 6:20 p.m. after receiving reports that the girl jumped into an above-ground pool and didn’t resurface.
“One of her friends pulled her up, kind of kept her above water,” said Lt. Wade Gourley of the Oklahoma City Police Department .
