For girls interested in building robots, riding horses, experiencing high adventure on a ROPES course or honing sports skills, Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma has the summer camp session for them.
There is still time to enroll in many summer resident camp sessions planned this month at Camp E-Ko-Wah, located near Marlow. Bus transportation to and from the camp will be available. The bus will leave Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma headquarters in Oklahoma City for each camp session. Parents or guardians may also drop off campers at the site. Preregistration is required for all camp sessions. The cost for sessions at Camp E-Ko-Wah begins at $85. Girls who are not Girl Scouts can pay an additional $10 at registration to become a Girl Scout and attend resident camp. Space is available for these sessions: •Sunday to Tuesday: Brownie try-it session. •Tuesday to Friday: Robotics, geo-caching, level II horses, level III horses. •July 13-15: Brownie "Once Upon A Time” fairy tale session. •July 13-18: High adventure ROPES course. •July 20-22: Brownie "It's a Small World” session. •July 20-25: Robotics, level II horses, level III horses, outdoor skills. •July 27-31: Brownie sports, cadette and senior high adventure. Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma also has scheduled a "Mom-n-Me” session Aug. 1-3. The cost for this session is $65 per person. These special weekends emphasize teamwork between Girl Scout and mom, and will include hiking, swimming, crafts and other outdoor activities. For details on each session, including a synopsis of what the sessions will include and cost for each session, go to www.gswestok.org and click on "Outdoor Education” and then "Camp E-Ko-Wah.” Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma serves 39 counties in western Oklahoma. Summer camping opportunities start at just $100. For more information on Girl Scout summer camp, call 528-3535.
