Girl Scouts remember 'Jessie' at bridging Published: May 20, 2013

GROVE -- Jessica "Jessie" Lewandowski was one of their own and so it was that she was remembered Sunday.

The Grove Sun reports that Jessie's family was honored at the Girl Scout Bridging Ceremony at Lendonwood Gardens.

Members of Grove Girl Scout Troop 1831 placed white carnations at the base of the Angel of Hope statue.

Also during the ceremony, there was a poem read by Troop Leader Debbie Deakins and a remembrance for Jessie.

The 11-year-old Girl Scout died July 21, 2002, of bacterial meningitis.
