•The story: The top returning player from Deer Creek’s 2013 state title team, Folsom fell into the leadership role with ease. The Southwestern Oklahoma State signee rallied in the final round for a third-place finish at the Class 5A state tournament, while helping the Antlers take third as a team.
•The story: One of the most exciting young players in the state, Milligan picked up an impressive early season victory at Ardmore, and won the 6A west regional with a round of 69. She added a top-10 finish at state to cap an impressive rookie year.
•The story: Anchored the Dragons’ Class 3A state championship run with third-place individual finishes at regionals and state. She won three tournaments on the year and finished in the top four in seven of nine events.
•The story: Nguyen had three victories this season, including the Putnam City Invitational against multiple large-school teams. She took third in the Southwest Preparatory Conference, helping Casady to its second straight league title, and finished the year with a 78.83 stroke average.
Player of the Year
•The story: A four-time selection to The Oklahoman’s All-City first team, Sadeghy hasn’t finished outside the top five at any tournament since her freshman season. She never finished worse than third at state, earning the Class 6A state title this season and finishing with a 72.5 stroke average.
Coach of the Year
•The story: Guiding a team mixed with youth and experienced seniors, Gowens’ Dragons won five of the nine tournaments they played in, including the Class 3A state tournament. It was Purcell’s fourth state title under Gowens and first since 2006.
