Going into the season, Western Heights knew what it had in post star Dilan Webster. She was a proven commodity that was ready for a big senior season.
But if the Jets were going to make a run to the Class 5A state tournament, the team was going to need some balance.
It's happened with the play of guard Antoinet Webster. In the regional semifinal against Ardmore, it was Antoinet Webster who set the tone. She scored 16 points as the Jets cruised to the win.
However, Western Heights picked up its best win of the year Saturday against Deer Creek in overtime.
The Jets trailed by nine points after the third quarter before rallying for the 54-48 victory to put the team one win away from the state tournament berth.
Antoinet Webster had 11 points as once again four Western Heights' players scored in double figures. Dilan Webster led the charge with 13 points.
Western Heights had lost to Deer Creek twice earlier this season. The Jets have a chance to exact some revenge when it plays Bishop McGuinness on Thursday at Yukon. The Irish beat Western Heights 71-36 in December. Western Heights has won six of its last seven games.
