Gioya Carter, a junior who committed to play her college basketball at Oklahoma earlier this month, led Carl Albert to its first win in its own tournament in six years.

She was named MVP of the Carl Albert Titan Classic after her team beat Millwood 47-35 in the tournament title game, during which she scored 23 points, had six assists and grabbed five rebounds, despite Millwood effectively limiting her open looks in the second half.

Class 5A No. 4 Carl Albert returns to the court Friday, when it hosts No. 3 Deer Creek.
