EDMOND — A couple days after her Deer Creek team won the Class 5A state golf championship, Caroline Goodin woke up, and it hit her.

“I woke up and I was on some sort of golf high,” Goodin said. “I looked in the mirror and I was like, I'm actually a state champion.”

Goodin finished runner-up individually, while leading her team to the title, the perfect finish to an impressive season that earned Goodin The Oklahoman's All-City Girls Golfer of the Year honor.

Goodin won four tournaments, highlighted by the Class 5A west regional in late May, and as her class valedictorian, she helped the Antlers earn the academic state championship trophy as well.

Goodin finished in the top five in all nine Deer Creek tournaments, and in the top three seven times.

But win or lose, Goodin won't forget how much fun she's had with her teammates in her final year of high school.
