Andee Decker led Memorial with 18.

Several times, Putnam City North looked like it had the game sewn up.

Twice, though, Sapulpa made frantic comebacks. But in the end, the Panthers held on for a 49-46 win.

North looked like it could just run the clock down in the final seconds before an ill-advised inbounds pass that was intercepted gave Sapulpa the ball back with 2.3 seconds left and a chance to tie.

But the Chieftains couldn't get a shot off, and the Panthers advanced to the finals.

North led by 10 with 1:45 left in the third quarter before Sapulpa reeled off 11 consecutive points over the next 2:30 to take the lead.

The Panthers rebuilt the lead to seven midway through the fourth before the Chieftains again mounted a comeback.

Sidney Carolina led the Panthers with 13 points, six in the fourth. She also had 11 rebounds.

“She played big for us,” North coach Brett McGee said. “She came from behind the defense and hit some big shots.”
