Two of the more liberal voices in the race for the White House — Republican Rudy Giuliani and Democrat John Edwards — dropped out of the presidential contest Wedneday.

Giuliani, 63, who sought to make the leap from New York mayor to the White House, bowed out during a news conference in Simi Valley, Calif., in which he endorsed front-runner and longtime friend John McCain.
