Regular exercise is one of the best defenses against obesity and the key to overall good health. It reduces your risk of heart disease, imporoves cholesterol levels, helps prevent and manage high blood pressure, prevents bone loss, boosts your energy level, reduces stress and helps you sleep better too. For women, your gift of health should include an annual exam, including a breast exam, a pelvic exam, a pap smear and an annual mamogram starting at age 40. Your last gift of health: If you're a smoker, make it your New Year's resolution to stop.
