Pleased with success

“I am pleased to have had the opportunity to lead the OKCMOA through a significant transition period following the retirement of longtime director Carolyn Hill,” Gentele said in Monday's announcement. “It is fulfilling to have achieved many important objectives in expanding the museum's outreach and education programming to involve and attract more diverse audiences, as well as enhancing the collection and exhibitions to include a broader offering of contemporary art.

Beal said the search for Gentele's successor will be conducted by a committee led by Frank Merrick, chairman-elect of the museum's board of trustees. Merrick is the president of Oklahoma City-based Foundation Management Inc., which provides management and consulting for charitable and family foundations throughout the country.
