Golf: OSU holds off OU to win inaugural Schooner Fall Classic

Jayde Panos leads Cowgirls with 4-over 214 for three rounds. Alexandria Kaui paces Sooners with 6-over 216.

NORMAN — Oklahoma State held off a comeback bid by Oklahoma on Monday and won the inaugural Schooner Fall Classic women's tournament at Belmar Golf Club.

OSU finished with a 28-over-par 868 for three rounds. The Cowgirls beat the Sooners by six strokes; OU sat in 12th place after the opening round on Saturday, then moved up to fourth after Sunday's second-round.

Jayde Panos led OSU with a 4-over 214. She finished seventh in the individual standings. Alexandria Kaui was the Sooners' top placer, finishing 10th with a 6-over 216.

Madelene Sagstrom of LSU was medalist. She finished with a 4-under 206. The Tigers finished third in the team standings, eight shots behind Oklahoma State.
