The Oklahoman publishes a weekly column about what is going on in Edmond called Edmond Exchange. Readers are asked to submit questions. For example:
Reader Jim Swartzendruber said: I would like to point out what I consider a dangerous crossing on the J.L. Mitch Park walking trails. The new aquatic center has a street going west to Santa Fe Avenue. This street has a hill just before the walking trail crosses the street. I feel like it’s a matter of time before someone is seriously injured.
City Engineer Steve Manek answered: After visiting the site, there are stop signs on the trail. So the trail users should be stopping to ensure no cars are coming from the west. We will continue to monitor the area to make sure it is as safe as possible for all users.
