He’s not running for vice president – he’s been named chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a post held by Palin, Alaska’s governor, since 2007.

Henry will serve as its 2009-10 chairman.

“At this critical time in history, it is important for energy-producing states to play a leadership role in the development and execution of our country’s energy policy,” Henry said.

The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission helps represent the interests of energy states by promoting safe and efficient recovery of domestic oil and natural gas reserves, energy conservation and environmental protection, among other things.

Brad Henry has done a fine job. Good for him!

I think Henry was elected the first time mainly because he wasn't Keating, and for the second time because Keating ranks right up there with Bush's performance.

It's businessmen and women who make Oklahoma 'recession proof'...not the governor or government. Get a freaking clue.
Chris, Jones - Nov 6, 2008 at 4:46 pm
Nick, Henry is the thinking man's Republican-Democrat. He was vastly elected by Republicans in huge droves two times. Didn't you read all the press today. Oklahoma was the only state in the union to totally vote every single county for McCain. But Oklahoman's are smart to look for good candidates when it comes to governor. It played that way with all the years Boren was governor and a senator. Boren had a huge Republican support base. There is also a luke warm religious sect in Oklahoma called The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. Anthony Jordan himself dedicated several new theatre seats at Falls Creek in Gov. Henry's name. This is the same man who supported Henry's rival in both elections. The Baptist blow out of both sides of their mouths in regards to Henry. Henry supports abortion rights, the lottery, and gambling. The BGCO dedicated the seats to him as a way to serve two gods. They hedge their bets for continued support of the smallest state highway in the nation that leads to Falls Creek. Anthony Jordan is the king of two-facedness and supporting Henry is the right thing to do. The rest of us support Henry for his almost Boren like ways. Notice I didn't say Carl Albert because he taught Gene Stipe everything he knows.

I for one, voted for Brad Henry, and I was PROUD that he supported Obama, not airhead Palin, or flip-flopping McCain.

By OKC being rated #1 when it comes to being recession proof, I would have thought Henry has been doing a very fine job as Governor. All of the Repub's are just bitter that one of their own kind is not Governor. The only people I hear complain about Henry are those who are Republican's, just for the fact that he's not a so-called Republican himself. Come up with reasons as to why he has been a bad Governor and I'll take your word for it and keep my mouth shut from here on out.

...like I said, I thought he was a republican.

I wonder if Brad got the position by proclaiming how great his lottery plan worked out. Or maybe it was....it was...well Other than the lottery deal that Brad claimed would give our teachers a significant raise, I don't know what he has done.

Glad Henry got this appointment. He doesn't do squat for OK...this should give him something to do.

Did you see the story about Palin on Fox of all places. The guy covering the McCain camp tells about frustrated McCain aides who say the woman had no clue about world affairs as if we didn't already know that. Still it's stunning to see a story like this on the network for Republicans even if they held onto it until after the election. Apparently as they were trying to brief her to get her up to speed for interviews they discovered she thought Africa was a country instead of a continent and that South Africa was just a part of the country of Africa. What high school grad doesn't know these sort of things? And this is the woman the right wingers want to run next time against President Obama. Go Sarah in 2012. I can't wait.

Josh from Shawnee, please shut up, you redneck fool. Deal with the reality of a minimum of 4 years of Democratic rule. Don't you have better things to do then get on here every day and say such enlightening things like "the south will rise again."? And to the loser who is mad at Henry for endorsing Obama: THEY'RE DEMOCRATS, MORON. Geez, you people are absolutely insane. You will eat your words after 4 years of Obama.

Henry is killing small businesses in Oklahoma with his appointments to the Work Comp court. Those judges are giving away money like it grows on trees. The DOK needs to keep running stories on what I have termed the legalized corruption going on at the Work Comp court.

Henry's a Democrat? Funny, I always thought he acted like a Republican...
Kevin, Oklahoma City - Nov 6, 2008 at 12:17 pm
I was a huge fan of Brad Henry until he supported Brack Obama. It seems to be all about what job/title they can get for themselves. They get elected and forget about the people that elected them.
