Government care not always a good thing

I was informed that my health insurance will be going up 12 percent primarily due to the mandates created by the Affordable Care Act. How thankful I am to live in a country where my government is so concerned about my well being! I'll be paying more for health insurance, but they are making my employer provide so much more for me. I'm sure that some of the increase will go to provide for those poor souls who are being forced to get insurance now. How thoughtful!

The government has done other things over the past four years to help me. My groceries cost me from 5 to 15 percent more, causing me to cut back on the amount of food that I buy; thus, I eat less. I'm sure not to become obese due to this thoughtful act. My fuel hasn't been below $2 per gallon in the past four years, so I drive less. This is such a thoughtful act preventing me from contributing to that nasty old global warming everyone talks about.

What a wonderful country!
