Governor Names New Commissioner to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission

Governor appoints employment attorney Shannon Davies to six-year term on the state Employment Security Commission.

Gov. Mary Fallin on Monday appointed Edmond attorney Shannon Davies to serve a six-year term on the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.

Davies succeeds Gayle Harris as a representative of employers on the commission. She joins the Rev. W.B. Parker (chairman), former state Sen. Mike Fair (employees), Douglas Major (employers) and the Rev. Mike Wester (employees) in overseeing OESC agency operations.

Davies is a partner in Lester, Loving & Davies, PC in Edmond. Her focus is labor and employment litigation and business litigation.

The commission provides unemployment compensation to support unemployed workers and their communities, matches jobs and workers to benefit local labor markets, and prepares a skilled workforce to meet employers' needs.
