Grading the Sooners: OU earns straight A's for in 65-21 win
A: PASS COVERAGE: Graham Harrell rarely had a receiver running free. His big completions came on the rare occasions when he had plenty of time to throw.
A: SAM BRADFORD: A pristine game by perhaps the new Heisman Trophy front-runner: 14 of 19 passing, 304 yards, four touchdowns and even some nifty scrambles on the rare occasions when Tech applied pressure.
A: GAMEDAY CROWD: A 7 p.m. kickoff and a cold morning is not the preferred recipe for ESPN's GameDay. But Sooner fans turned out en masse Saturday morning at John Jacobs Track. “Sooner Nation really showed up for us,” ESPN's Chris Fowler texted to OU publicist Kenny Mossman.
A: DeMARCO MURRAY: Murray was a non-factor in OU's other big game of the year, against Texas, but Saturday, he was the best player on the field, with 125 yards rushing and 71 yards receiving. That's 196 yards on 22 touches.
A: OWEN FIELD CROWD: Bob Stoops got what he wanted: a loud Owen Field. Stoops overstated the Sooners' lack of noise in games past, but the record crowd of 85,646 roared from the start.
A: TURNOVER RATIO: OU's defensive thievery continued. Three takeaways, giving the Sooners 18 in their last five games, and two were cross-country returns (Travis 47-yard interception, Keenan Clayton 53-yard fumble) that set up the offense inside the Tech 5-yard line.
